Tiny but dramatic lives of insects get big-screen treatment

Microcosmos , the final film in the summer Drexel Theatres children's series, is a 1996 French documentary about bugs in their natural habitats, going about the endless job of survival. It was filmed with microphotography and motion-control programs, no narration (beyond some opening and closing words) and a lot of patience.
